When I started looking at this list, the biggest and most pleasant surprise I got was the Netherlands. This small
but incredibly beautiful country clearly seems to have found some magic spell for the best lifestyle! At the top of
this list is The Hague in the Netherlands. Imagine a city where there is no ear-splitting noise of
car exhaust fumes and horns on the roads. Instead, people wake up in the morning and ride bicycles, breathe fresh
air under the open sky, and go to their work smiling and singing. Utrecht and
Eindhoven, which come in second and third place, as well as Groningen and
Rotterdam, which come in fourth and fifth place, prove that the Dutch know the true art of living
and balance. And yes, the world-famous Amsterdam also comes in at number 8. When I think that 6
cities from the Netherlands dominate the top 10 of these 50 cities with the best quality of life, I
think that the true definition of development is not big buildings, but the smiles on the faces of its citizens.
Reading this makes me think that if there is anything more precious than all the money in the world, it is clean
air, physical health and boundless peace of mind.

things do we struggle for in our daily lives here, while there all these are considered as the fundamental rights of

Similarly, if we talk about the Nordic countries, their culture shows a remarkable respect for people.

far behind. When I look at the traffic congestion and cement jungles of my own city, I realize how lucky the

contact with nature.

A glimpse into America and the Middle East

Some cities in America, i.e. the USA, also meet these strict criteria for peace and well-being. Three cities
from the state of Florida – Tampa (45), Jacksonville (46), and Walt
Disney-famous Orlando (48) – made it to this prestigious list. In addition, Ohio’s
Columbus (49) and Nebraska’s Omaha (50) also made it to the top 50 cities in
the world. These cities show that America is not limited to the hustle and bustle of New York or Los Angeles,
but there are also beautiful cities where you can live peacefully.

I was personally surprised and extremely happy that the city of Muscat (47) in Oman, from the desert region of
the Middle East, also stands proudly in this 50 cities with the best quality of life due to its
peace, slow but beautiful lifestyle and extremely strict security. This proves that the right laws and the
mentality of the people can make any geographical situation a paradise.

Final Thought: What Does This Mean for Us?

After analyzing the entire list in depth, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I truly understood that
‘Quality of Life’ is not just about a bank balance, a big expensive car, or a salary of lakhs of rupees. True
quality is when you come home tired at night and your mind is completely at peace. It is when you walk on the street
at night and you or your family do not have to fear being robbed or molested. It is when you or a relative of yours
gets sick and you get excellent health services for free or cheap and you do not have to reach out to anyone. This
